Career Coaching

Science of Success

India’s unemployment rate rises to a 3-month high of 7.8 pc in March 2023. According to The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, a private organization (CMIE), India’s labour markets deteriorated in March 2023. The unemployment rate increased from 7.5 per cent in February to 7.8 per cent in March 2023. CMIE estimates India’s unemployment rate to be around 7.45% at present.

With the economy’s present high employment rate, career coaching focuses on helping people achieve success in their professional career aspirations.

As a career coach I work with my Clients across industries to unleash their full potential and give them the skill sets to show up in the job market with unparalleled competitive edge. I shall ensure my Clients explore their talents and strengths in relation to their career choices.

My Clients can be grouped in any of the four subsets categorised below:
  • Unemployed or underemployed aspirants
  • Newly Employed executives
  • Executives fronting mid-career crisis
  • Executives looking for career transition

I have different working modules for each group to partner them in their specific needs in order to be fit for the competition.

For the first group, coaching can start from basics such as helping Clients explore their dream job options, decide on the chosen industry and corporates, equip them with the necessary skill sets to be industry ready and even prepare them for the interview.

The second set will focus more on the company’s vision and mission, corporate ethics, grooming and etiquette, product knowledge, compliance, communication, social and interpersonal relationship building.

I adopt a more individualised approach for the third set as these are slightly critical and would warrant more probing to understand the rationale behind the crisis. Few reasons can be promotion, recognition, pay, performance. In all of these cases, something has to be done to set the right client’s career and they know it. It is not uncommon that most people prefer to handle career challenges by themselves, however, all too often they recognize that they need some assistance. This is where I step in to partner my Client to address the crisis.

This is a more common but critical scenario in today’s context wherein a coach comes in to assist. A career transition may mean that the client is at a crossroads. Either something has happened to them or perhaps they got laid off. Or, perhaps they know something is about to happen to them. For example, word is that they are getting a new boss and they are not willing to make that change or the client feels a need to make something specific happen for themselves related to job or career. For example: they are bored or they need a new challenge.

Let’s put it right out here – career change is a scary business, fraught with obstacles – a resistant spouse, financial concerns, fear of failure etc. Where do you start? What should you consider? Such fears have prevented many a high-achiever from reaching beyond their comfort zone, but the biggest rewards come from taking the biggest risks. Coaching for job transitions is really different from coaching anything else, for the fact that a great deal of additional research might have to be undertaken to move forward.

The above list is not all inclusive. Please contact us for any specific requirement that you might need support to overcome.
